Mold Removal | 3 DIY Mold Cleaners
Mold Removal | There are many mold removing products on the market but what should you use if you are in a pinch and need something immediately? Check out these easy mold removal cleaners that include ingredients that you probably already have on hand:
Bleach & Water
If you notice mold on a non-porous area of your home then bleach and water is a good choice as a DIY mold remover. Bleach can kill many different things but it can’t reach down into wood or other porous surfaces. Mix 1 cup of bleach into 1 gallon of water and shake to combine. You can spray the mixture with a spray bottle or use a cloth or sponge to wipe away the mold as well.
Tea Tree Oil & Vinegar
If you already have essential oils on hand in your tea tree oil is the one to use for mold removal. Combine 1 Tablespoon of tea tree oil to a spray bottle filled with 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. Shake the bottle until combined and then spray the mixture directly onto the mold. Let the spray sit on the mold for at least 30 minutes in order to allow the vinegar to penetrate the mold. The tea tree oil will help to keep the mold from coming back as well as provide a clean scent. Wipe the mold and spray off with a paper towel to finish.
Hydrogen Peroxide & Water
Another great household item that can kill mold is hydrogen peroxide. Simply mix 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with 1 cup of water into a spray bottle. Spray down the mixture onto the mold and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. Wipe off the mixture with a paper towel and you’re done!
